Hello, my name is Aimee and I live in a little village in the Staffordshire countryside. I have worked as a nurse and psychotherapist for over 10 years. I have a BSc psychology degree and a MSc in mental health nursing. At first I worked for the NHS, within an acute mental health ward. I then went on to work as an acute mental health nurse within the acute home treatment team supporting people at their most vulnerable time to recover from severe and enduring mental health conditions. I particularly felt passionate about working with women during their perinatal period and have a good understanding of how to support women during this time in their life.

Following my time in acute care I specialised in children and families as a senior mental health nurse. For 10 years I developed my skills working closely with mothers and their children from birth to adulthood. I trained as a psychotherapist with NHS Talking Therapies and am an accredited interpersonal therapist. I am now working within private practice continuing to support women with their mental wellbeing.

I am deeply passionate about holistic approaches and strongly feel that one approach does not fit all. I enjoy sharing my interests with the people that I work with and include sound and crystal healing within my sessions if this is the approach you like. I also offer breathwork, meditation and creative approaches that enable you to feel relaxed and replenished. I am passionate about seasonal living and follow the Wheel of the Year to encourage you and me to live in the moment and be mindful of nature.

Alongside my clinical work I have developed my leadership skills by being part of service development and quality improvement. I am passionate about the wellbeing of people and have great experience providing clinical supervision and leadership. I have fantastic project management skills and take pride in my communication and facilitation experience. In 2021 I completed the Florence Nightingale Foundation Leadership Programme and am proud to be an FNF alumni scholar. I also support the Foundation of Nursing with co-production projects focusing on lived-experience and leadership.

Pencil Me In also provides creative wellbeing workshops focused on making self-care realistic, allowing yourself time to relax and create beautiful things without worrying about other responsibilities. We practice relaxation and guided meditation, helping you to unwind and feel truly nourished mentally and physically.
